Reduce Bandwidth Congestion

Is there any kind of tweak/program that would allow people on a shared network to lower the effects of high bandwidth activities (Mainly videos and downloads in my case) on one PC on the others?

Yes, it's QOS and its usually in the router.

What router are you using?

Theres also individual computer apps, but i've never used them, just qos.

Yes itll work on wireless. It works on any connection of the router.

You'll need to readup on your routers qos, as options vary, but using it will allow for fixing you up.

Well that is one problem. My router is old. Like something you might throw into a yard sale. Every possible help guide I found off Google was no longer available probably due to its age. But do you have even a vaguest idea of what each of those mean?

EDIT: Found this massive user manual.

Just ran through the manual, and saddly those qos are for the provider, not for your internal internet.

You most likely arent able to use qos on your network.

Sorry... might be easiest to get a new router AND bridge the 2, as yours is a modem as well correct?

What would be the difference between the two?
