My daughter's laptop won't open the network and sharing screen, whether i go through the control panel or on the task bar. I found an old post to this similar problem and tried the fix but no go. Not sure what to try next.. any suggestions

Does it give you an error message of some sort? Or does it just do nothing when you try to open it?

Usually have low HD free space left (<10 GB), often left on overnight. I really push its capabilities.
when i right click on the task bar all it shows me is the menu and when i click to connect to a network it doe nothing. When i open the control panel and click on network and sharing center, the window opens up and stays blank and nothing ever loads. It then seems to freeze the computer because it doesn't respond to me closing the box or any other command. So i end up just hitting the power button to shut it down.

Ok first of all download a free copy of Malwarebytes ( Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download ) and run a full scan with it. Allow it to download the update if it asks you to. After it's done, remove everything it finds and restart your computer.

If that doesn't fix it, run sfc /scannow in command prompt as an administrator. (right click -> Run as Administrator) Run it three times, restarting in between each time. If neither of those help, let me know and we'll try some other things.
