Not Able to Set Up Connection

Hello, this problem has been bugging me and I pray that someone here can help.

I have Windows Vista on my laptop. I use the Anti-Virus software called Kaspersky. I also use Google Chrome as my main web.

Recently, since about a week ago, I cannot access the internet. I go onto Google Chrome and click on all the websites I use plus more - no response to the website. What Google Chrome says is:
"This web page is not available
Google Chrome's connection attempt to www.google.com was rejected. The website may be down or your network may not be properly configured.
Here are some suggestions:
  • Reload this web page later.
  • Check your internet connection. Reboot any routers, modems or other network devices you may be using.
  • Add Google Chrome as a permitted programme in your firewall or antiviruus software's settings. If it is already a permitted programme, try deletinh it from the list of permitted programmes and adding it again.
  • If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure that the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the spanner menu > Options > Under the Bonnet > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.
Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): The server refused the connection."

So I did as Chrome said and, no luck whatsoever.

I exited Chrome and decided to try Internet Explorer this time around.
No luck here and Explorer says:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problem"

So I clicked the little box and was rewarded with:
""google.com" is not set up to establish a connection on port "World Wide Web service (HTTP)" with this computer."

I called our Internet service provider and they talked us through a bunch of steps. Finally they suggested turning off our antivirus, Kaspersky, and it worked! But now no antivirus. :|
So I thanked them and hung up, and re-activated Kaspersky as I do not want to go without no Antivirus.

So that's where I stand.
A working Antivirus, a Firewell and Internet that allows Chrome and Explorer yet won't allow me to access anything.

Please help!

Oh and PS/BTW

The reason I'm able to get online is from the home computer which has the wi-fi. I have the home computer, sister's laptop, another desktop, and my brother's laptop which I believe all have Kaspersky and they can get the wi-fi and work fine.

I read and re read your post. Are you hard wired to your Router/ modem or are you doing a wireless connection .This is for the broke computer that you get internet but not anti virus. , How are you connected ? Please make this more clear for me.. sorry to have to ask, but, i could not discern this fact clearly .

No biggy. :)

I am connected using wireless connection from my home computer. Using a router. I would also like to add my brother's laptop is HP Windows XP and my sister's is a Mac, and mine's a Dell Windows Vista.

Okay, running wireless off of router, but, when you have Kaspersky active, you lose internet connection ? Is this correct ? Can you verify that you are on an Admin account for me ? Post back .

Great, do this.. hard wire to router. You should have internet while wired. activate your anti virus while wired and see if you still keep internet access. If not, do this. While wired to router still, go to elevated command prompt. To do that, is > start> all programs> accessories, > command prompt, right click to run as admin. > then we want to flush your , in command , do this > ipconfig /flushdns > then press enter, then you see this> Windows IP Configuration
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache. Now , we want to re acquire your IP , do this : ipconfig /renew> press enter. when done. restart computer and lets see what we have now. Post back please .
