this problem was happening a few months ago and then it seemed to right itself,

hello yard dog

Thanks for the tutorial, but I do not think I am clever enough to try this, it does seem
very complicated.

Are there many users on your internet connection? are you in a remote location? these are important factors! If there are alot of people on your internet connection then that is the problem, you just have to wait for them to get off the internet.

If youre in a remote location then i would highly recommend you get a satellite based INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER!

If these are not the cases then your modem is probably failing, a good indicator of this is HEAT, if you notice the modem is hot during optimal use more than likely its going bad, if this is not the case then its probably youre Internet Service provider's fault ESPECIALLY IF YOU USE AN UNKNOWN INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER. ATT HUGHES VERIZON COMCAST are all well know Internet Service provider's BUT if you live in remote locations you will experience problems IF youre not using SATELLITE
