cant connect to wireless!

Hi all,

would be grateful of some help if possible?

I have been using my HP G60 laptop for a few years now with no problems. Today I came home and tried to get on the wireless virgin internet but couldnt.
Called Virgin and they went on remotely and basically tried to change my network settings to Private instead of public. He said thats the reason it wont connect as my sons laptop connects fine on wireless.

He changed it to private but every time it changes back to public....he left me saying he cant help me any further and that I need to find a way to make it stay private.

Can anyone tell me how to do this please??

Wecome to the forum, Have you added any programs lately?

Have you recently scanned for malware? Combox fix is a very powerful tool.

Its odd to me that its changed on its own, one thing you may want to do is a system restore back to before you started having issues.

Hi and thanks for your reply,

I tried updating my network drivers which didnt change anything and then realised that I had installed the Blackberry desktop manager to update my phone yesterday!

Have now done a system restore to the day before and all is well!

Still not sure how that software would have caused such a problem but just glad its all sorted now.

I think its the crackberry software. The phone may be trying to act as a network connection, and screwing up your Virgin connection.
