after removing a root kit, I now have no internet access. DHCP client will not start. I can only use the system in Safe Mode (crashes with BSOD 8e in Normal mode).
I was able to fix some of the registry entries (such as tdx.sys) but on reboot the tdx.sys again is broken. I used the TDSS Killer and it does not find any problems. It appears that something is making changes to the registry at boot time - but I could be wrong. Note: using the Farber scanner to get this info. Any help appreciated.
System is Vista home prem SP1 on Dell desktop with a wired ethernet connection to a Linksys router - worked fine for 2 years.
