Hi,
I'm trying to add a network printer (shared from a Server) from a computer running Windows Vista Home Premium. The user must authenticate using different credentials, but I cannot find a way to force Vista to connect with different credentials.
In Windows 7 it is easy, I just add an entry in the credentials manager and everything works, I can connect to the server, access all the shares the user has access to, and add the printer.
In Windows Vista, I cannot do this. If I try to add a network credential in the "Stored User Names and Passwords", I can only add a "A Web site or program credential". The "A Windows logon credential" option is grayed out.
When I try to access the share from Windows Explorer, I get an access denied. Instead of having Windows popping up an authentication dialog it just tries using the credentials of the currently logged on user, which is not what I want.
If I try to add the printer using Add Printer Wizard -> Add a Network Printer, when I enter the path to the printer, I also get an access denied instead of having Windows popping up an authentication dialog.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
