Why is pingable from a computer connected to 192.168.0.1 router to 192.168.2.1 router, but not vice versa. I mean a computer connected to 192.168.2.1 can't ping 192.168.0.1 router.

Thanks.

Can you ping the router from the computer connected to it? Maybe it's not running ping service.

Hi MilesAhead,

I am trying to ping a 192.168.2.1 router IP Address and not a computer that attached to a 192.168.2.1 router, even though let's say it work pinging a computer ip address that attached 192.168.2.1 router but what is the point, all I want to ping a 192.168.2.1 router only.

Is a way to enable and disable ping command on a router web page user interface?

Thanks.

There should be documentation online for the router at the manufacturer's web site.

You have multiple subnets... What are the error messages received? Request timed out or Destination Unreachable?

Request timed out is broad and could mean that the IP address is not used or that the device isn't responding to ICMP ping messages. Destination Unreachable messages could indicate a routing issue where the router doesn't know where to send the traffic.

Can you open a command prompt and type the following and then report back with your results. This will help us to determine where the possible issue lies. If you constantly receive '*'s then please press CTRL+C to cancel the command. Either way please report back your results.

Code:
tracert 192.168.2.1

Could you also then complete the following:

Code:
tracert 192.168.0.1

Many Thanks,
Josh :)
