Big tar file

HI,

I'd like to extract my Linux backup made by tar using Windows Vista.
Unfortunately the backup is splitted. I can merge the files using the
command:

copy /B test*.tar test.tar

The problem is the size of the total file: >9Gb

Suppose Windows doesn't handle the archive the right way cos of it's size.
Anyone 's got a sollution? Maybe it's possible to pipe the archive through
an extraction program/utility during the merge process?

Bye Don

This newsgroup is for Windows Live OneCare, so you're actually off topic.
However, see if this utility helps - http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/
If the partition you are writing the joined file to is formatted as FAT and not
NTFS, you can't write the file due to the limitation of the FAT file system.
