| Re: Windows Defender Not quite true. The signatures and engine in OneCare are the same as those in Defender, but Defender is not controlled by OneCare. | Re: Windows Defender I think it is a matter of semantics I stated One Care controlled Defender and you said that One Care used the the same signatures and engine as Defender does. In any case when the One Care service starts it starts up the Defender firewall engine MSFWDRV so Defender 's firwall engine can not be removed.
