Install without connecting to Internet

Hi,
I was wanting to install OneCare using the CD. Due to a problem with my
broadband I could not connect to the internet. However, it seems that it can
only continue if you are connected.

This seems like a security issue as it would mean I have to be connected
with no protection until OneCare finishes it's installation leaving a time
when the machine will be vulnerable.

Is this right ? Is there a way to install without being connected ?
I appreciate that I will not have the latest updates but surely better to be
a bit secure than not secure at all.

Regards,
Paul

You must be connected to install OneCare. The Windows firewall will protect you
from inbound threats. You should not browse the Internet or check emails, etc.,
while downloading and installing OneCare to minimize the chance that you will
allow a threat to become active by opening an infected message or by browsing an
infected web site.

Stephen,
Thank you. I guess that makes sense, the Windows Firewall will stop the
inbound problems until it installed. That gives me some piece of mind.
Thanks again.
Paul
