What RAM rates a 5.9???

With my new Rig I get 5.9 all the way, exept RAM. I'm only getting a 5.6...
I've got Corsair's Dominator and it's FSB is 1066.
My M/Board has so many O/C tweeks that it's got me lost. Never thought I'd have too much controll over my BIOS, LOL!
Anyway, the nForce 680i M/B has SLI O/C in the BIOS and when I disable it and try to squeeze a little more O/C out of my RAM it drops the 5.6 to 5.3!
I guess I should have purchased RAM with 1333 FSB, then maybe I'd get a 5.9...
Oh, if it helps, my RAM Timmings: 5,5,5,15 2T 2.3V
If I set the Voltage at 2.1 the rating goes down to 5.4
I'm at a loss and I don't know why I care, LOL!

Re: What RAM rates a 5.9???

I've said it before and i'll say it Again.
Please dont take the WEI scores too seriously , they are weird for UNKNOWN(or known only to a chosen few .....) reasons.

As long as u have 2GB of Decent RAM(>=667) and arent noticing a lag or anything ,you should be fine.

FYI , My Kingston Value RAM (2GB DDR2667) scores 5.9

Re: What RAM rates a 5.9???

What you can do is tighten the timings a bit and switch over to 1T and see if the scores improve.
I've read Latency plays an important part in ur RAM scores.

Let us know
Oh...BTW...Welcome to Vista X64 forums.

Re: What RAM rates a 5.9???

I also have the 4 Gig Pack of Dominator DDR2-1066, however, I get 5.9 on my WEI. I run mine at 5-5-5-15 as well, so I don't think timings mean that much. It is probably all random

Re: What RAM rates a 5.9???

Whats odd (i made a thread about this but never found the answer). My RAM USED TO get a 5.9... now it gets a 5.3. Go figure. Same timings and all.

So yea, WEI can kiss my ass

Re: What RAM rates a 5.9???

Keep in mind, the speed of the FSB and memory timing are not the only determining factors in memory performance. The chipset, specifically the Northbridge and the Southbridge, control the FSB and therefore have great influence on overall memory performance.
