Re: ReBoot Time

Hello The Shadow,

The Use of Script at the bottom of this tutorial to download it will help show you how to use this.

Boot Up Time

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: ReBoot Time

WOW.....a neat little script!

I created it and ran it on my Windows XP-Pro machine and it was just 77 sec's.

Not too bad.....now to try it on Vista, if I can get that #$%@&*@ Dell to boot up.
It's been having a tissy fit all day.

Thanks for bringing me up to speed.

I really appreciate you guys!

Shadow

PS: Like so many other Dell XPS400 users, worldwide, I've had to declare the mobo "DEAD". There are many reports from other Dell users that they are experiencing the same symptoms as I have. I'm going to scrap it out, removing any usable parts and trash the case, mobo and PSU.

Re: ReBoot Time

Mr Scrooge,

You may find some resolution to that problem of "verifying DMA Pool Data" Here: Computer stops at verifying dmi pool data....

I wish I had read that site when I was having that problem on an older PC.

Good Luck to ya!

Re: ReBoot Time

Hello GraphicsGuy, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Yikes, I agree. That is a bit of a wait.

I would start with these items: Boot Up

Next, I would see how much these can help: Speed Up the Performance of Vista

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: ReBoot Time

You think yours are bad, 143 secs with 46 processes I think ATI CCC and all its services have a big part to play in this. Time for some more tweaking.

Re: ReBoot Time

I take it back GraphicsGuy has a longer wait than I do, I just shaved it to 127 secs a very light shave indeed.
