Re: ReBoot Time

Hi Gentlemen

Sorry to digress, however, with regard to Shawn's comment about trimming 'Services' and 'Processes', I had previously implemented a combination of BlackViper.com's and SpeedyVista.com's Administrative Services Tweaks and for the life of me cannot see any speed increase on my PC.

In fact, now I have not touched/tweaked any of the services, my PC is performing, if anything, faster now than when I used to tweak them (services that is. I don't touch the processes either).

Warmest regards

Neil

Re: ReBoot Time

That's ok Neil. Each system is different. Disabling some services on some systems may help performance while on others it can hurt performance.

However, I have not seen anyone lose performance by increasing the processors at boot if you have multiple cores or CPUs.

Re: ReBoot Time

I used most of the tutorials that are on Speed Up the Performance of Vista, but not all (yet?). Don't think I can get much lower than 49 seconds though.

Vista 64 Ultimate/AMD Athlon X2 5200+/4gb of ram.

Thanks to all who have contributed in this forum and that is nice little vbs script for the timer.

Re: ReBoot Time

Which part is the longest for the reboot crzywierdo? I was having issues with shutdown, but the bootup has never seemed that bad. Well, as you can see, I have done some work!
