Re: Post Your Overclock Results.

I need to take new pics and update my stats, as well as get new Vantage scores. I suppose I should get 3dMark '06 and run it once now that I have these SLI'd and slightly OC'd, huh?

Re: Post Your Overclock Results.

hi lads, i been lookin at gettin an upgrade MOBO,, what is you opinions on the
XFX nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard with a
OCZ 600GXS Sli -UK nVidia SliReady600W

i currently have a standard acer mobo and cant OC hardware as follows: quad Q6600 2gb ram 500gb ata nVidia 8400gs (512mb i think lol) just gonna transfer everythin over and then go for gold on an OC.. one problem... havent a clue how to OC gonna give it a go tho..

your onpinions on the upgrade hardware are much needed

thanks...

Re: Post Your Overclock Results.

looks good mate........

but i would seriously consider upgrading your GFX card at the same time, the 790i will be wasted with an 8400

In regards to OCing you may want to take a look at This when its all up & running.

I think that is a great motherboard, but unless you have two or more graphics cards and DDR3 memory then it's probably not for you, you might want to try the Evga 750i SLI FTW.

That's the one I just got and it's great for overclocking had my E8500 @ 4.5Ghz plus it takes DDR2 Memory and still has two PCIE x16 2.0 slots

Just in case you aren't aware, if you change motherboards you will need to reinstall windows and make sure when you do that you only have 2GB of ram installed otherwise you might have problems installing Vista.

Re: Post Your Overclock Results.

chances are i am gonna buy all brandnew hardware anyway and just sell this pc, buy the same q6600 processor again tho... i can understand going for the evga but the appeal of the xfx is more i think...

can i ask. what is the reason for using only 2GB when installing vista.. i was planning on getting 4GB... do i use 2gb and then after installation of vista, add the other 2GB, the board can support upto 8GB.

also, you mentioned two or more GPU's.. can this not just be run with one or will certain features not function correctly

thanks mate
