| Vista Ultimate 32bit | Fan Speed Control and Overclocking Is there any way to control the fan speeds on the system? I checked the bios but since my fans arn't stock (upgraded) they dont appear. No Vista option for the fan speeds either. I have downloaded various programs, SpeedFan ect, but none seem to make my runs run at 100% Its always ranging from 50% to 60%. Also, are there any good programs to overclock the CPU? I'm having alot of trouble with my MSI Neo P45 motherboard. I've got the right components and all, but it wont let me overclock my QX6700 past 2.8 when it was 2.66. I want to at least get it to 3.44ghz. |

| VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | Re: Fan Speed Control and Overclocking Hi, Not sure what's going on with your fans are you sure they are supposed to run at 100% ? - are the correct options enabled in the Bios - worth checking the manual or get it from your mobo's website - also see if they have an updated Bios available. CPUID has oc'ing functions - it warns you it's at your own risk, of course - they also do HWMonitor which should help you see what's going on with your fans and temps. CPUID Hope this does the trick SIW2 |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Fan Speed Control and Overclocking CPUId has Oc'n fucntions. I've never known that. lol Your fans should not be going at 100 percent. and you should for sure be able to OC that thing plenty far.. how far is your RAM Oc'd. Try setting Ram to unlinked. and set it at stock 800, then add a little voltage and crank that thing to 3.33 GHz. I'd try that first. just set the fsb to 1333. and you can probably make that on stock volts. I can hit 3.33 GHz on stock volts on my Q6700 no X edition. I run mine Daily at 3.66 GHz these days. used to be 3.5 but 3.66 GHz is my sweeeeet spot I'd decided. I've gotten it to 3.7 Ghz also. What cooler do you have? |
