Air Cooling praise

I wish to thank all the great and knowledgable guys that post in this forum for sound advice and experience shared to all who read the posts.

I have waded through a lot of post for everyones experience, trial and trubulations and found a lot of great advice in the CPU cooling area.

My new system was running at idle temps of 46c and under load (2 games and ventrillo running) it was sitting at around 61c @3.1Ghz. Now tempted to go a bit further to see how it will perform.

I wanted to get the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreeme but found it difficult to locate from local supplies but with more reading i found that a lot of people also had good reviews with the Zalman 9700 LED HSF setup so i was able to get that and man what a difference it made.

I now run my system @3.5Ghz easy with idle temps at 38c and under load at 50c thats a damn vantastic difference it has made.

Big thanks to all you guys, Brink i think a lot of these guys deserve extra rep points from me but i am not sure how to do that

Re: Air Cooling praise

Congrats - I unfortunately am hitting a major CPU / mobo wall at 3.2 with my Quad 6600 but I can't argue with it when my Tuniq keeps it under 40 idle and no higher than 50 under a *very* heavy load....and 33% OC is nothing to sneeze at either....

What, did you solder that Zalman onto an old IBM PC? Oh wait, those were like 4.77MHz, you're underclocked!

j/k, I think you meant GHz.
