Seeing the end of DDR RAM?

I came across this while poking around. Explains about a RAM architect called XDR with XDR2 being faster than GDDR5 for desktops.

Rambus - XDR™2 DRAM

Dunno if anyone else has seen it, but don't want to imagine how much it will cost ^^
