High temperatures due to OCing

I OCed my Intel Core 2 duo E8400 to 3.42Ghz and it is working fine. But as i put load on it and play games the temperature shows 71C. I know this is too high but i dont know a solution to it. any suggestions? I am using stock air cooling.

the stock cooler is a POS....., you need a good ''front to rear'' cooler to OC, what is your case fan config like..??

Re: High temperatures due to OCing

Hello amigo max,
Just a tip, before you get another Cpu cooler, make sure it will fit in your in your case because some of them are huge.
It does look as though a better cooler would help, and maybe some extra case fans.

Re: High temperatures due to OCing

I got one intake fan 140mm and another 2 exhaust fans of 125mm. Well that is good but i somehow don't know how to keep the temperatures low.

Well after this i have to get a new cpu cooler, but i cant actually get one liquid cooling near my house right now. And i will add extra case fans as u said.
Thanks.
