I am not overclocking my i7 but was wondering if anyone knows the best cooler that will fit with a gigabyte EX58UD4P with an i7 and in a Antec 900 case. I have two 3870X2's crossfired and the extra fan on the case side. I am running Rivatuner as the fan control on the ATI cat does not work for the 3870's. It never gets hot but I thought I might want to push it some and see what I can do. Yes, It has the stock Fan for the i7. LOL

Take a look at the Noctua NH-U12P, i cant fault this cooler, it also has a screw spring loaded base as opposed to those crappy push pins.

So far I have found this to be the best for my system requirements but I have not decided completely yet. I am in no rush as I don't overclock and the stock fan is doing just fine. I really appreciate all the help and inputs, this has been a tremendous assistance in my search.

Thermaltake ISGC-400 CPU Cooler

I added this as it has a good (not the best) cooling at a low profile fit design. After reading about it, the reviews all said that it fits great in a mid tower that has side fans.

Thank you!

The cooler came in fine. I installed it after looking at the paper directions and deciding the only use full thing was the air flow direction and picture of the cooler. Other then that it made a nice place mat for the work. Turns out there are 4 ways you can mount this and only one of them is correct. As long as you look at the airflow then you will have no problems. It took me about an hour to rip at all down and figure out the direction then clean out the dust bunnies.:o And have it all back working again. It fit reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally close to the side fan but there is not problem with the fit. The temps dropped to 40-43C from 53-57C. It was worth the time and money! Besides that it looks pretty cool as well.:D

Decided to play around with some things and now have the CPU cooling down to 31 to 39C degrees at full load after hours of operation.Very rarely hits over 40C.

I shifted the cooler 90 degrees. Now at idle the CPU, all 4 cores are stable at 32to 34C and when all 4 cores are running at 100% for a few hours the system is never above 60C. I can't explain here why all 4 cores are running at 100% but it does have to do with Blue Ray's.:sa:
