DDR2 provides the best value for the buck. Having said that... if you are installing a high end CPU, DDR3 is best for you!

This.

There are better DDR3 kits out there. Honestly, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two regardless of your task, especially with that CPU.

i'd also go with the DDR2, having your RAM frequency much higher than your FSB (i.e. DDR3 1600) wont show much of a boost, especially with a C2Q.

2 gigs are not even enough to do basic gaming with 64 bit vista.

the type of RAM you run is nowhere near as important as the amount of RAM you have, especially with these new MS operating systems....

i.e.

you'll probably find 3gb DDR2 667mhz will run faster than 2gb DDR2 800mhz, you really want 4gb for intensive gaming, my rig constantly passes the 3gb mark even while running pretty mediocre games...

i'd rather run my DIMMs in single channel & have more of it than trying to keep the sticks matched for dual channel & actually using less.....

;)

trust me ...... quantity over quality. ;)

4gb DDR2 @ 800mhz will allow you to game happily, i actually run my 1066mhz RAM @ 905mhz CL5 to keep the 1-1 ratio & i can run ALL games at blistering framerates (GPU permitting of course)

oh..... forget 8xAA, its pointless it just swallows your FPS & adds no real visual benifit.....4xAA is plenty.

I have few(10.000) more questions if you have the time.
1)What exactly is the 1-1 ratio?(write few examples please!!)
2)Which one is MY 1-1 ratio?(with my Kingston ValueRAM (2X2GB)4GB DDR2 800MHz PC2-6400 System Memory, 240-pin DIMM, CL5, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, Model: KVR800D2N5/2G 5-5-5-18 (4GB)
3)If i will insert the above memory i will be ok with high-end gaming, right?

they'll be fine.....juuuust for gaming?how about high end gaming?(vsync+8AA+1920x1080)they are not good/enough?

trust me ...... quantity over quality.

What exactly is the 1-1 ratio?

the ''ratio'' is also known as the ''divider'', the board sets different ratios for RAM frequency in relation to your FSB...

a 1-1 ratio is the lowest possible divider on an Intel setup, its said to deliver the best (most stable) DATA throughput.....but this can be manually altered in the BIOS to utilize faster RAM, though more mhz is not always best.... tighter timings will show more of a boost with DDR2. ;)

right.....what do you class as ''high end'' gaming..??, if your talking about running most if not all modern games @ 1920x1080 with well over 30fps, then you'll have it.

ok here is where you can find out what your current ratio is.... CPUZ / memory tab

aaw.JPG

now... in order to set a higher ratio / divider, you'll need to enter the ''advanced options'' in the BIOS & look for the RAM frequency setting, or divider setting (ive never worked on your board, but its there), as you up the RAM frequency your ratio will change.....

have a read through these.....;)

And the last questions for today...Which one for high-end gaming?
A)
GEIL GB24GB6400C5DC DDR2 4GB (2X2GB) BLACK DRAGON PC6400 800MHZ DUAL CHANNEL KIT 5-5-5-15.
OR
KINGSTON KHX6400D2K2/4G DDR2 4GB (2X2GB) PC6400 800MHZ HYPERX DUAL CHANNEL KIT 5-5-5-15.
OR
KINGSTON KHX6400D2LLK2/4G DDR2 4GB (2X2GB) PC6400 800MHZ HYPERX DUAL CHANNEL KIT 4-4-4-12.

B)CL5 vs CL4
I will find noticeable speed between 5-5-5-15 and 4-4-4-12 or juuust a small different?
