Hi people I apologise in advance as I am sure this has been answered manytimes before.

I feel That I should be getting more out of my system than i currently do. I have for a while that i would like to overclock my cpu and possibly My ram as well as my 3dmark06 benchmark score i think is a bit lower at (12906) :sarc:than it could be.. :)

I just have not got a clue where to start with overclocking .. Some people have said to use the nvidia conrol pannel etc and others have said to do it via the bios. Some have also said i need to move the overclocking jumper on my main board ... I have looked for it but am dammed if i can see it.

I know to overclock via the bios i would need to get into the advanced bios settings but dont know the key combo to press on my motherboard. or are the advanced option unlocked via the overclocking jumper ..

a step by step guide would be v much appreciated so i dont fry my cpu or my brain lol.

sorry if that is as clear as mud..

Hope you all had a great new year...

thanking you all in advance ....

kind regards

Simon

ps system specs are in my profile

check out the ''stickies'' in this section for a general idea of how its done......:), though i must admit that is a very low score for SLI GTX260's, i was pulling 12k with an 8800GT & 16k with a single gtx260....

your Q6600 should be good for 3.6ghz at least (cooling permitting)

unfortunately i cant give you exact numbers for BIOS settings as every rig is different in this regard even with matching H/W. ;)
