    Hi kato

It is is possible however I will be providing you with an answer that will not make you happy.
The best way to approach your concern is to obtain an "overclocking-friendly" motherboard, if your existing motherboard bios has the CPU and voltage settings locked. This is common for OEM vendors. Aside for voiding warranties on your existing hardware, your vendor will not provide any further support on your system if things started heading south as a result of a software-overclock etc.

There may other posters (Guru's and experienced), on this forum, who may advise you as to how best to achieve what it is you are after.

Hope this in some way answers your query

    Regards

For some setups - Technically yes, advisable no.

    Are these your full specs:
HP Pavilion a6110n PC (GG781AA) specifications - HP Home & Home Office Products

It can normally be achieved by using software, however I couldn't find any software based apps that support your chipset (nforce 430)

Unfortunately, you may be out of luck

Overclocking is not recommended, EXPECIALLY on a Laptop... Laptops get hot when they are not overclocked. If you overclock and your computer gets too hot, you can kill your motherboard or processor.

I would recommend you not do it, since you are new, If I were you, I would read more into it, and identify the benefits and the risks...

When you overclock, you can decrease the life of your hardware by up to half in some cases, but in others, it doesn't deteriorate the life of your hardware, it just depends what your computer hardware you have.

    Psst - it's not a laptop

Yes, overclocking does have it's shortfalls - but when prepared for and done properly, it can significantly reduce the risk

My bad, I'm sorry. Lol. That's the same computer that my mother has, and as I can recall, it doesn't overheat at all.

Why do you want to over clock it? That computer is fast, and good for gaming.

    lol, easy enough to overlook.

    But good for gaming?

It depends on the game and settings I guess - not intending to berate, but that's a rather weak GPU.

Re: Is it possible to overclock CPU without using BIOS

IMHO, Overclocking should always be done via bios never software. Software OCing is asking for trouble and best to steer clear of them.

Also, the very first thing that needs to be looked at before attempting any overclocking is the cooling solution.

The bios are locked for a reason. Generally speaking, most OEM boards simply can not tolerate the stress OCing creates.
Motherboards that are designed with OCing in mind are a different story, and can tolerate more stress/heat.
