Solved Is my computer even worth trying to overclock?

Hello. I run a Dell Inspiron 530S with a 2.20 GHz Intel Celeron processor. I want to try to overclock my graphics card and processor.

Please advise. Is it worth the risk of destroying my computer?

Honestly no... nless i don't know what video card you have.

You can't safely oc your cpu, as dell locks the bios so you can't. But being a slimline, you won't beable to keep it cool.

The3 gpu, its possible, i think, but heats gonna kill you.

It it weren't a slim dell, i'd say giver, but it is.

For what little you gain by overclocking it's not worth the gamble.

Hmm... what do you use it for? A celeron really is not worth overclocking... Not even a dual core... As for your video card good luck. unless it is popular not many cards accept overclocking software... for example on both the Mobility radeon X1450 and X2300 the sliders in ATI Tray tools would always go back to default when moved... Same thing for AMD GPU tool and ATI TOOLS. Plus why would you want to overclock for... Heat in laptops are a big issue... unless it has like 3 fans (*ahem toshiba quismo*)

Its not a laptop... but almost, its a right skinny dell. Which cant be bios oc'd.

For the fyi, some cellys can overclock like mad! and gaining 25% boost could help.
