Also it is very helpful to find a good regex visualizer/experimentation
tool. Check out Expresso at:

Using tools like this is both a great way to learn and to check your regexes

RAD Softwares Regular Expression Designer, RegexBuddy and Expresso are all
great tools (two of them are free) for Regexes.
If you go to www.regexlib.com, you'll get some info on how to build them
too, and a lot of examples.
