Powershell 2.0 final version?

Hi, does anyone know when Powershell 2.0 is going to be released?

Will Visual Studio 2008 be prepared for this scripting language?

Thanks to all,

Ivan Mckenzie

Re: Powershell 2.0 final version?

I wouldn't expect it for a LONG time from now. We are only in CTP. It has
not even reached beta yet. Jeffrey tried to make this real clear.

As for VS 2008, not sure what you mean

Re: Powershell 2.0 final version?

I mean, if VS 2008 can be use as an IDE development tool for Powershell, as
for example PowerShell Analyzer and PowerShell Plus.

Thanks

That would be nice. I wonder if you could just change the debug
settings on the source file to launch ps? Not sure if VS2005/8 has
extensible rules for source code highlighting like vim does - if it
does then you'd be half way there (this site somehow manages it
http://www.thecomplex.plus.com/highlighter.html)

With all the security I'm not sure if this will be possible, but could
I create a short-cut on the desktop that users can double script to
launch a script running in a powershell window?

Thanks,

Duncan

I don't think anyone knows yet to be honest. We just started seeing
what new features will be part of 2.0 last month. I wouldn't expect a
production quality release before Fall 2008 for sure.

No. Anything in possible for a later SP though or even a 3rd party
extension.
