Hi,
I have just started using powershell. It is amazing!!!
Can some one suggest any powerful editor to write powershell scripts?

I am looking for one which provides
auto indentation, auto fill(like tab).....
Thanks,
NAgesh

Ok, it doesn''t do that, but remember - a good author doesn't need a fancy
pen.

Re: editor for writing powershell scripts

Hey Jon,

I wholeheartedly disagree on that. Any functionality that improve the speed
of which you write the
script, the understanding of the script you're writing, and reduces the chance
of errors when writing
the script, is hugely beneficial.

And if you meant it as a joke, please excuse me - I didn't get it then

Re: editor for writing powershell scripts

Jacob

Well, it was intended to be semi-humorous, but the point was that when
writing a super-script that's going to change and revolutionise the world,
the focus should should be on the content of what you're writing, rather
than worrying about whether your editor has tab completion or not.

Re: editor for writing powershell scripts

but tab completion etc makes you more productive so you can create more
super-scripts that will cause revolutions :-)

Re: editor for writing powershell scripts

Hey RichS,

precisely

But I guess this is part of the ever ongoing tools-philosophy discussion
which is completely
coloured by subjectivity.

I, personally, love all productivity enhancing features. Not only does it
reduce the chance of
error, and make me script faster, it also lets me relax a little bit and
focus on the bigger picture.

And I like that.

I'm not looking for revolutions. I'm looking for max impact with minimum
effort.
