domain controllers - up / down

Can powershell detect whether the dc is up/down ?

Besides the ping method, what other suitable methods to check DC ?

I would Ping then check port 389 and 3268. You could also bind to rootDSE.

Check the netlogon and other AD related services are running on the DC
