Exchange management shell

Is there a way to run exchange management shell without installing exchange
management tools?

Running Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.Admin will not
be sufficient i believe !!

Also having exchange management shell installed will i be able to manage
exchange 2003 mailboxes?

Regards,
Swamy

Swamy;

The first question is an intriguing one - you would have to copy the Microsoft.Exchange.PowerShell.Configuration.dll
to your machine, and PERHAPS could load the snapin.

I am building a test box right now, when that is done, I will test this.

You should google powershell+exchange+2003 and review what you can do against
your 2003 system - mostly reporting via WMI as far as I have seen.

I've never tried and I don't think you can.

I know you can to some extent. I can test it since I've removed the last
legacy exchange server (2003) from the forest.

Swamy;

Npo, you cannot simply copy dll's and make the management shell work - just
install the management pack
