hi all,

i have two questions concering powershell as a tool for remote
management / network scripting.
currently we use vbs for logon- and logoff-script and other
administration tasks.



a) does powershell have to be installed on all clients, if i want to
use it for remote management?
b) how can i deploy powershell to all clients in a network?

can not use an msi-package for group policy deployment.
are there other ways? is it still too early to use powershell for
these kind of tasks?

It depends on what kind of remote management you're looking at doing.
You don't have to install PowerShell on the remote system to use WMI or
ADSI, for example. You can also use winrm for remoting. You might have
to be more specific.

For example, apparently this tool can also deploy PowerShell:

I'm not sure if it is a limitation of their enterprise version (they
have a free version and one you must pay for).

a) No, You can manage from a central location.
