File attributes (getting/setting) and ownername

Hey all,

anyone got any examples or code that shows how to get and set the attributes
of a file ?

What I want to accomplish is running through a file/folder structure, and
for each file that has is e.g.
read only, I want to remove the read only attribute.

As a bonus... how do you get the owner name of the file, and possibly set
the ownername to somenone else ?

Thanks in advance, hope someone has the answer

Hey Shay,

thanks - you're a lifesaver. I'll give them a look and see if I can put them
to good use
