| | not really remote access I'm trying to script SharePoint, but am getting "Access is denied 0x80070005" when trying to do anything meaningful with my SPSite object. I think it might relate to the fact that, although the scripts are executing on the same server upon which SharePoint is installed, the AD-DNS name(webserver.mydomain.net) is different from the Internet DNS name (sharepoint.mydomain.com) needed for SharePoint access. Would this cause Powershell to think this was a remote server and therefore restrict access? |

The error isn't come from PowerShell, but from SharePoint itself. I would try pointing my script to both "names" to see what happens, but I think any "local" connection should be basically going through your loopback interface, so I think you have another problem...
