Why won't TFS work for this?

I'm not that familiar with TFS but I use Perforce to accomplish the same
basic goal.

My post was in response to a question about using something like TFS for
script source control. I should have quoted it I guess.

Hello PaulChavez,

Well, TFS is an awfully big, expensive and complicated solution for something
as relatively simple as script sources.
And of course, TFS is better for Visual Studio based code, since the two
integrate.

Mm... Perhaps one should look into that kind of a project, cause I never
really understood why scripting sourcecode
is less important than visual studio sourcecode, or why an IT operations
department has less need of co-writing scripts
etc.
