Configuring winrm

First off, my apologises if this is the wrong group, but it does appear to be
where the winrm big brains hang out.

I'm trying to use winrs to run a remote command (just plain cmd not
powershell) but I don't really want to make all the client users
administrators of the server where the command will be run (they're not
adminning the server, just running an application installed there).

In the documentation for winrm, the topic Authentication Constants
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...93(VS.85).aspx) says of the
user you want to connect with, "By default, the account must be a member of
the local Administrators group on the local or remote computer. However, the
WinRM service can be configured to allow other users. For more information,
see Installation and Configuration for Windows Remote Management."

Unfortunately the topic referred to says absolutely nothing about
configuring non-admin users. Does anyone know how to perform this
configuration?

I tried changing the RootSDDL setting for winrm/config/service but that just
led to privilege issues which seemed fairly insoluble.

The clients (XP) and server (2003 though moving on to 2008) are all in the
same domain and the users belong to a group.

Thanks
