I am running Windows Server 2008 and I have SQL Express 2005 already
installed. We have an application that has it's data in SE2005, and the
software provider says that their application is not compatible with SE2008.
We are getting another application that runs on SE2008, so I need both SE2005
and SE2008.
When I run the SQL Server 2008 Express with Advanced Services install
(SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe) and run the System Configuration Checker it fails on
Windows Powershell saying "Windows PowerShell is not installed. To continue,
please install Windows PowerShell." This is Windows Server 2008, it is
supposed to come with PowerShell already installed.
If I run the install directly from the first link on the download page
(http://www.microsoft.com/express/sql/download), at the point in the install
where it runs the PowerShell setup I get the message "Not enough storage is
available to process this command." I have 448gb free on the drive, I have
cleared the temp files and IE cache, and rebooted the system.
Can anyone give me any direction as to what to try next?
