Checking for Hard Drive Errors

Is there a way to check for media errors on drives when the server is using a
RAID controller in a RAID 5 configuration using Powershell? The Raid card is
a Dell Perc 4DI. I have about 100 servers to check and I what to automate the
process.

Re: Checking for Hard Drive Errors

Back in the days when I managed Dell servers, I installed the Dell
OpenManage Server Administration tools (DOMSA). These had a console-based
type access (DOS commands).

PowerShell v1 won't provide all that much unless DOMSA has added something
like WMI support as of late...

I think you should check this:
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/art...nRM-WinRS.html

Assuming you have Windows Server 2008 servers with WinRM available.

Re: Checking for Hard Drive Errors

this is possible only if Raid software have appropriate API interfaces.
