| Guest | How does PowerShell use the help.xml files? When I looked at the structure of the various help.xml files in PowerShell I jumped to the conclusion that their content was used when I typed get-help some-command But if I edit and save a help.xml file PowerShell still displays the original content. The same happens if I close PowerShell and start again. Is the original cached somewhere? Would I need to reboot to see changes? Just curious. Andrew Watt MVP |

| Guest | Re: How does PowerShell use the help.xml files? Hi Andrew, The article here talks about how to create help content: http://blogs.msdn.com/powershell/arc...dlet-Help.aspx If you edit a help file, a new PowerShell instance will load your changes. I will write a blog entry about the inner workings of help system very soon. -- Krishna[MSFT] Windows PowerShell Team Microsoft Corporation This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
