Powershell For Dummies

Is there a site available that will show in detail how to use powershell. I
am very new to this area and have finished upgrading a site to the latest
micrsoft software. The problem is the batch files. I want to convert them all
to powershell scripts.
I have downloaded te software and now I am ready to start. It is mainly file
manipulation and the re-naming of files.

Any ideas on a site like this

RE: Powershell For Dummies

If you have installed RTM PowerShell then you should have access to the
Documentation that ships with it including a Getting Started and User Guide

The PowerShell web site at

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...l/default.mspx

Has a lot of useful links

The MS Scripting center page for Powershell is also a good place to start

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scr.../hubs/msh.mspx

Please note that all scripts are supplied "as is" and with no warranty

Re: Powershell For Dummies

You may find these articles useful. Technet serialized chapter 10 of my book
which covers working with files and text:

Windows PowerShell in Action: Working With Text and Files

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scr.../payette2.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scr.../payette3.mspx

Hope this helps...
