| Guest | I appologize as I know this is "off topic", but It is powershell related :) As some of you know.. I started a new blog and to take yet another page from the /\/\o\/\/ play book... I bought a domain name (3 actually) and web hosting package. Im gonna move all my blog content over, but I wanted to know what you guys use? Im looking for a good blog site, forum, and a generic Content management. p.s. to keep on topic: Whats your favorite Powershell Function? | Guest | Re: I appologize as I know this is "off topic", but It is powershell related :) Mm ... It's probably a good idea to ask those questions before choosing your hosting package. Some hosts make installation of a particular blogging tool easier / quasi automatic. Check your package details to see if that applies. I like WordPress. See http://andrwwatt.wordpress.com/ for some PowerShell Ponderings. Huge choice of styles available with WordPress. I used to use MovableType, http://www.movabletype.org/. But it went through a phase where it was difficult to access the free Personal edition. I haven't used it for about 18 months so can't comment on it currently. Used to be good. On balance WordPress is my favourite currently. Andrew Watt MVP On Thu, 11 Jan 2007 15:24:55 -0500, "Brandon Shell" <tshell.mask@gmail.com> wrote: >As some of you know.. | Guest | Re: I appologize as I know this is "off topic", but It is powershe I use Windows Live Writer (Beta) - it does permit writing the content off-line and then publishing it later. Works with drafts as well, either posted to the site or left on your local machine. I've tested it briefly with spaces.live.com and with blogger, seems to be fine so far. the nice thing is a handy code formatting plug-in - that has yet to see a PowerShell language option, however, the C# is close. Just have to edit the line comment from // to # later outside of Live Writer. Oh and you have to watch the line length since it doesn't wrap things nicely, it just truncates. Windows Live Writer (Beta) is a Microsoft product. I used bold to signify PowerShell code. There is also a code style in the visual editor. There is also an option to indent/outdent text/code in the visual editor for WordPress. You can also hand code HTML / XHTML if needed. Or customise the CSS style sheet for your blog. So if you know a little HTML/XHTML and CSS you can do whatever you want, as far as appearance and layout go. Andrew Watt MVP |

| Guest | Re: I appologize as I know this is "off topic", but It is powershell related :) I like writing in Markdown (http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax), so I use a Markdown plugin for Wordpress. Code can be formatted two ways: * If it's a keyword included in a sentence, you can enclose it in `back ticks` and the output will be <code>back ticks</code> * A code block is made when you indent the code with four spaces. The output is then converted to <pre><code></code></pre>. -Joe Brandon Shell wrote: > How do you format code in WordPress? > > -- > > Brandon Shell > --------------- > Stop by my blog some time ![]() > http://mybsinfo.blogspot.com/ > ---------------------------------- > > "Andrew Watt [MVP]" <SVGDeveloper@aol.com> wrote in message > news:rb8dq2tkskfii0oq58t6vbfp3066u2p96v@4ax.com... > > Mm ... | Guest | Re: I appologize as I know this is "off topic", but It is powershell related :) The formatting would be taken care of in a style sheet. For example, here's this page: http://adminspotting.net/articles/wi...ce-Pack-2.html And the style sheet: http://adminspotting.net/wp-content/...ing3/style.css The styles that are formatting the code are: div#content code and div#content pre code This method would not be able to do syntax highlighting, though. -Joe Brandon Shell wrote: > Ok... so the <code> just makes the text look different... how do you keep > the formating?
