Re: using exchange management console commands in powershell.exe

Install the Exchange Admin Pack... should be an option during exchange
setup. If you run the setup from the Exchange 2007 CD on the machine you
want the admin tools install.

and when you do that you can use it in the standard out of the can
powershell.exe , rather than the exchange's homebred host? do you have

The answer to your question lies here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tec...l/default.aspx

Here is a Good Location on Information:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...mgmtshell.mspx

If you don't want to read the whole thing do this:
PS> Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.Admin

Re: using exchange management console commands in powershell.exe

If you just want the PowerShell componets I think you need

C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange
Server\bin\Microsoft.Exchange.Management.Snapin.ESM.dll

and

C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange
Server\bin\en\Microsoft.Exchange.Management-help.xml

Should be able to register and add the snapins as normal. Still need an
Exchange 2007 environemnt to run against though. - Wonder if any of the
cmdlets that effect AD work in a non-Exchange 2007 environment ... have to
test it?
