| | General beginner question Hello! I`ve been watching Jeffrey Snover`s great webcast from TechEd about PowerShell, and are greatly impressed! My question is quite simple: Is the PowerShell mostly created for administrative tasks for administrators, or is it also supposed to be a client-side scripting-tool for i.e. logon-scripts? |

| | RE: General beginner question PowerShell is an administrative tool. If you look at the way the admin tools for Exchange 2007, MOM 2007 etc are being layered on top of PowerShell its primary function is to provide a great command line interface for administration. It can be used for client side tasks like login scripts but because you need to pass the the path to powershell & the script to run it isn't quite as easy as using a VBScript type login script. -- Richard Siddaway Please note that all scripts are supplied "as is" and with no warranty Blog: http://richardsiddaway.spaces.live.com/ PowerShell User Group: http://www.get-psuguk.org.uk "jering" wrote: > Hello! > > I`ve been watching Jeffrey Snover`s great webcast from TechEd about > PowerShell, and are greatly impressed! > > My question is quite simple: > Is the PowerShell mostly created for administrative tasks for > administrators, or is it also supposed to be a client-side scripting-tool for > i.e. logon-scripts? |
