| | Re: N E W B I E I so love your reply. Because it’s so true. I already posted on Powershell blog of a least one situation I see, where one could shrink dozens of line of codes developed in other languages into a Powershell one-liner. I've been doing quite a little bash programming, (like improving some bash test scripts for Jikes, even unearthing some bugs, etc.). My Professor – an Oxford PhD and also former Microsoft Research Cambridge guy – had this to say about one of my bash solutions: “Congratulations, you win the prize for most use of unusual shell-script features! Also a very neat, appropriate solution.” I let this out just to bring out the point that I am quite familiar with bash. But even though bash is such a great tool, Powershell is so much up there compared to Bash. Working with objects instead of text manipulation is the idea of the century!
