Anyone seen this? Just installed 1.04 from
http://www.quest.com/activeroles-server/arms.aspx

Add-PSSnapin : Cannot load Windows PowerShell snap-in

following error: The Windows PowerShell snap-in module C:\Program Files\Quest
Software\ActiveRoles Server\Power
Shell\Quest.ActiveRoles.ArsPowerShellSnapIn.dll does not have required Windows
PowerShell snap-in strong name Quest.ActiveRoles.ArsPowerShellSnapIn,
Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, Publi

I didn't have any problems with 1.0.4 at all. Did you have an older
version on this machine.

You'll have more luck contacting their dev guys through powergui.org.

RE: Can't add Quest AD cmdlets

I've had 1.04 installed for a while and had no problems. Possibly old
version still there?? but Quest normally check for that. Did you uninstall
an old version before trying the install?

Oh, and restart PowerShell if you just dropped an old version before
going to a new.

Re: Can't add Quest AD cmdlets

Actually this does look like an upgrade issue. Can you try going to
Add/Remove Programs and uninstalling the cmdlets, and then re-installing them
again?

Also, does this show up in the shell which the cmdlets setup adds?

At PowerGUI.Org we have a forum where questions like this would be
best addressed. This is not a common problem that we see, but there
could be something with your configuration that causes this special
case. Describing your configuration will help the guys on the forum to
determine the issue(s). Good Luck!

Oops, I may have lied without realizing it. Uninstalling and reinstalling did
fix the problem.

thanks!
