C Drive filling up

    C Drive filling up

My C drive on my SBS 2008 box is filling up rapidly. The server is spitting
out hourly alerts that the disk has reached its notification for low disk
space threshold. It's filling up at an average rate of about 1 MB of
    something every hour.

The volume is 80GB and has just under 6GB free. Doing a quick tot-up of the
files and folders on the drive, the space occupied comes to about 35GB max.
If my math is correct, this means that 39GB is filled up with something that
isn't showing up. I know people have had issues with IIS7 logs, but I can't
    see anything unusually large there.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

An alert was detected on your network. Further investigation into the issue
    is recommended.

    Title: Percent Free Disk Space

    Source: Performance Threshold

    Description:

The free disk space on this computer has dropped below its notification for
    low disk space threshold.

    Volume Name: C:

    Free Space: 6292832256

    Volume Size: 86234886144

    Troubleshooting suggestions:

    1) If the issue is being reported on the server running Windows SBS,
consider freeing up the disk space by reconfiguring its disk using the
storage tasks available under the "Backup and Storage" tab in the Windows
    SBS Console.

    2) If the issue is being reported on a client computer, consider freeing up
the disk space by using the Disk Cleanup and removing any unneccesary files
    on the computer.

I use TreeSize to see what is taking up space on systems:

    http://www.jam-software.com/freeware/index.shtml

Be sure your folder options are set to show hidden and system files first so
    you get accurate results.

How much RAM is in this system? Have you used the wizards to move Exchange
/ SharePoint / User shares to a different drive?

    Re: C Drive filling up

Looking at pagefile.sys, revealed it was a staggering 16.8GB in size, so
there's half the hidden harddrive space consumption, for start. I'm still
investing the other things, so thanks for the response and suggestions.

    Re: C Drive filling up

The server has 16GB of RAM. The Exchange and SharePoint shares are all on
    the C drive.

    Thanks for the suggestions, Chad.
