hi..



i have a customer suddenly having backup errors with the built in backup
used by sbs 2003 std, not R2. Fully patched server


get this error. Backup error finished with error code 0X8007007A
have had this in the past and followed most of the info i found on the web
and has cured. however this time doesn't look to work.

bkprunner.exe works when manually started (double clicked) but not from task
scheduler or from a batch file.

anyone any ideas

In addition to checking the permissions on the scheduled task, you may delete the old scheduled task and re-create a new noe? Will same issue occur?

There are several triggers for this behavior. It is known that certain third party applications will make changes to the security descriptors

Software packages that are a known cause for this behavior:
-Trend Micro InterScan 5.5
-IBM Universe/2 database software 10.x.

Also you have Veritas Backup running, please temporarily stop them for test purpose.
