    WSuS 3.0 SP2 on SBS 2003 ?

    Hi all,

apologies if this has already been discussed, I did look but didn't
see anything along the same lines.

I see that SP2 for WSuS 3.0 has been released. Are there any known
issues installing this on SBS2003 R2?

I know that there's an issue with "default language" on SBS2008, and I
also recall having to cancel the wizard when installing WSuS initially
on SBS2003 so that the SBS console still worked. Any similar things
with SP2 that you know of?

We're using SBS2003 Premium and SBS2003 Standard on a number of
    separate sites.

    Many thanks,

    Jim

    WSuS 3.0 SP2 on SBS 2003 Premium?

I need this advice too please.

Install halts and tells me to uninstall WSUS V3 first.

I don't want to do that until we have confirmation that there are no issues

I can never say that there are "no issues" on any patch.

What I can say is have a good backup.
Let the install do it's thing.
Cancel out at the end and don't run the wizard.

    Mine ran fine.

Mine ran fine too, both on the SBS and my Vista management workstation. You
need to upgrade the report viewer too.

    Hi Dave

Did you uninstall WSUS 3 before you ran SP2? This is what it asks me to do

    Graham

It's telling you that WSUS 3 needs to be uninstalled. When I ran WSUS SP2 it
did the uninstall itself. I just had to click OK.

Excuse me for jumping in here, but is the Report Viewer for installation on
the WSUS server (say on Windows Server 2003 Standard) or just on management
    workstations?

It's probably best to install it on both - it only takes a second to
install, no reboot required. I only ever run WSUS reports from my
management PC, but I installed the report viewer on the SBS just in case I
ever need it while I'm logged in at the server - I won't want to have to
deal with it if I'm ever in a troubleshooting situation.

Right - just let the installer do its thing. You don't have to manually
    uninstall anything yourself.

I've got ten SBS2003 R2 servers to do, and the first just bombed. SP2
hung on "Uninstalling previous version" / "Configuring dynamic
    compression".

I've rebooted and resumed, and now it won;t install at all. Great.
