Dupicate email address error!

    Dupicate email address error!

SBS2003 with Exchange running SMTP mail via DNS.

I can send and receive emails for 9 of 10 clients. One client can receive
internal emails but all mail is rejected when sent from an external source.
In the email address dialogue for this client the domain.local address is
missing! If I try and manually insert a domain.local address I get the
message "address already exisits in organisation" with an AD code: C10312e7.

I cannot find this rogue address in any part of the system using the MMC. Is
there a way of manually accessing and searching the AD and then excising this
    rogue address?

    Thanks, any help appreciated.

You'll have to do an AD query to find it. A quick google should turn up a
vbscript or powershell script to do the search, but in short, you are
querying against the SMTP Proxy Address field.

In ADUC, have you tried right clicking the domain name, Find, Advanced,
    User, Field = user, email addres = user@newsgroup ?
    Check groups, too.

Also, Have you tried checking your mail-enabled public folders, too?

This may work. On a domain workstation type the email address into Outlook
"To:" and click check names - it should resolve. Could be a mail-enabled
    public folder?

    Hello Denis,

Thanks for your post and good suggestions from others.

Please also check and make sure the "Automatically update email address based on recipient policy" is selected on the E-mail Address tab. Then restart the Recipient
Update Service from Exchange System Manager, Recipients, Recipient Update Services node. Then check the issue again.

    Hope this helps.
