| | How to install WSS 3.0 SP2 & WSUS 3.0 on a new fresh install SBS2003 SP1. I need to reinstall an SBS2003SP1. If I want to have the new releases of WSS & WSUS, I need to uninstall previous version from server , then install the new one, or it's enough to update ? I'm asking this, because I found a lot of articles regarding the upgrade of WSS & WSUS on a production running server , that is not my case. Thank for support |

| | Re: How to install WSS 3.0 SP2 & WSUS 3.0 on a new fresh install SBS2003 SP1. Hi: Windows Update Services 3.0 with (now) SP2 goes right over top of WSUS 2.0, and keeps the relationship with Server Management / Performance Report if you either cancel the customization wiz at the end of the install or accept the defaults. Just run the setup/install/exe whatever it is I forget. However, having just done one of these, I suggest letting WSUS 2 do its thing for a week or so, and you should un check "drivers". Then do WSUS 3SP2 and uncheck "drivers". SharePoint Services 3.0 is optional, and *must* be a side by side installation, not an upgrade, or replacement. But unless you have serious use for SP, I don't see the advantage to installing it. -- Larry Please post the resolution to your issue so that others may benefit.
