Hi,
I have exactly the same problem! I have tried all sorts to fix it including using the Repair feature on the SBS2k8 disk and I have also tried bootrec.exe /fixmbr but none of it was successful (even though the CMD Prompt told me it was!).
Gaz - how do you know if any of the services has started..? I cannot even boot up in Safe Mode.
Let me know if you have found a fix, would you..?

SBS 2008 shows nothing but black screen and arrow

Hi all
Got a SBS 2008 that seems to working (in most) fine, i.e. I can access
shares etc, but when it boots I just get a black screen and an arrow. I've
tried all the normall stuff like trying to boot in vga mode, and safe mode
but no matter which option I choose it shows the Microsoft Corp banner with
the status bar then goes to the black screen.
I've also tried to RDP in to it and all that happens is it doesn't connect,
even though I can see the relevent services are running on the server (yea I
can remote manage the server).
Some of the services won't start (e.g. Exchange Info Store) with a 1068
dependency service or group failed, but I think that is unrelated.
Will try a different graphics card in the server (HP ML350 G5) tomorrow but
have a feeling it may make no difference.
Any help much appreciated.
