SBS 2003 Backup Snap In Issue

On one of my clients, the Backup snap-in in their SBS 2003 Server
Management works fine from the built-in Administrator account, but when
I navigate to it from my own admin account I get "A problem has
occurred with the Manage Small Business Server Backup snap in. Close
and re-open Server Management. If this problem continues, restart the
    IIS Admin Service.".

I've never seen this before, but guess it's a permissions issue. There
are no event log entries that accompany this, restarting IIS Admin
Service (which runs under the local system account) doesn't help, and
my admin account has the same group memberships as the built-in admin
    account.

    Any ideas?

Many snapins rely on IE for rendering their display. Open an IE window (one
of the very rare times you'll see me recommend this on a server) and reset
all security settings to default. Also, if you have any group policies that
could be applied to your account that wouldn't apply to the Administrator
account, make sure they aren't interfering with IE's ability to render for
3rd-party apps such as MMC snapins.

    Thaks for your response, Cliff.

IE security settings are all at their defaults (and I had previously
removed IE's enhanced security configuration). Other snap-ins, like
Monitoring & Reporting, all work fine. 'tis only the Backup snap-in
    that is giving me grief.

Is you account a member of the Backup Operators group?

It wasn't, but I have now added it - the issue remains, however. Then
again, the built-in administrator account is not a member of Backup
Operators and it has no problem with the snap-in.

TBH this isn't critical, as I can use the built-in admin a/c for backup
configuration - I'd rather not, though.
